What is Polygon MATIC? Polygon is a scaling solution backed by Binance and Coinbase. It transforms Ethereum into a multi-chain platform.

Polygon is what’s called a “layer 2” scaling solution. Think of it as a layer on top of a blockchain that absorbs some of the congestion on the underlying blockchain. Polygon can process 65,000 transactions per second making it extremely fast. While Polygon currently supports Ethereum, it will support multiple blockchains in future.

MATIC is Polygon’s token. It is an ERC-20 token meaning it runs on the Ethereum blockchain. You can purchase MATIC at major crypto exchanges.
